Liverpool are monitoring Brazilian teenager Reinier, according to the Daily Mail, as they continue to look to build for an exciting future.
The only signing that the Reds have made this summer is Sepp van den Berg after he was recruited from PEV Zwolle in June.
The Daily Mail now reports that Brazilian 17-year-old Reinier is a target for Liverpool, as well as Manchester City.
Anfield scouts will watch him on Tuesday as he plays for Brazil U17 against Paraguay. It’s a deal that is unlikely to impact on the club’s immediate future but along with van den Berg, Brewster, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez, could be part of a bright future for Liverpool.
The midfielder is clearly highly rated otherwise scouts from such important clubs would not be in attendance but there is no guarantee a deal will be arranged.
If a decision is made for him to join the Reds he would be unable to to link up with them until January when he turns 18, with his current Flamengo deal running until 2020.
As for the Liverpool first team, Klopp seems set to avoid making any major transfer moves this summer as he is happy with his squad which, in all fairness, won the Champions League just under two months ago.
If he ends the season with more silverware, the German will be lauded for his trust in his squad but if disaster strikes and he doesn’t, the former Dortmund boss will no doubt receive huge criticism.
