Antoine Griezmann wants Liverpool to win the Premier League after he admitted his fondness for the Reds in an interview with Sky Sports.
The recently unveiled Barcelona forward said: “In terms of teams I admire Liverpool because of the fans. Hopefully one day they will win the league again.”
The Reds finished on 97 points in the Premier League last season, one point adrift of 2018/19’s Champions of England Manchester City.
They will go head to head once again this season and in terms of what Klopp has built at Anfield, it might be the Reds’ best ever chance of winning the elusive trophy.
It’s been 30 years since Liverpool won a league title in England and since then, there hasn’t been a squad assembled with as good a chance of winning the title.
It’s slightly unfortunate that arguably the best ever Premier League team is pushing to win its third consecutive title but if there is one man to stop Pep Guardiola and his City side from doing so, it’s Klopp.
The biggest difference between the two sides is Liverpool’s defence and the quality of Alisson and Virgil van Dijk. Those two have taken the Reds to defensive heights they haven’t reached for a very long time.
If they can match their defensive strength from last season and continue to be scintillating in attack, they will have a very good chance of scoring over 90 goals again.
