Allen has been named in Linfield’s UEFA Champions League first qualifying round first leg clash against Rosenborg that will take place on Thursday evening at Windsor Park.

If he plays, he will set the record for the youngest ever British player to play in Europe’s elite tournament, highlighting just how exciting the young, gifted midfielder is.

Supporters might not be over the moon with Liverpool’s transfer business this summer but Liverpool need to be praised for their commitment to recruiting the best young players in the world.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are examples of how willing Klopp is to give young players their chance to impress ahead of seasoned veterans like Nathaniel Clyne and Dejan Lovren.
