Junior Firpo told TuttoMercatoWeb that he would one day like to play abroad but refused to give any details on what the future holds for him.
Alberto Moreno has been released by Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp will now be on the lookout for a new left back.
Andy Robertson was arguably the best fullback in Europe last season but needs competition, with Sport claiming that the Reds are considering a move for Junior Firpo.
Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Firpo said: “The market? I don’t think about it, as I’ve said many times before, we’re playing for a very important trophy.
“Playing in Italy in the future? It’s a good championship, there are important and historical teams.
“I also like to experience other countries, but first I want to think about finishing the European Championship.”
Firpo is just 22 years of age and while he would likely prefer a role at Anfield which would see him play regularly, there are many years left in his career and he could do a lot worse than learning from Robertson as the Scotsman’s deputy.
Of course, with the Reds set to take part in seven competitions this season, the Spaniard will get his fair share of game time, with the FA Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup set to add considerably to Liverpool’s fixture list for the 2019/20 season.
Whether or not he’s worth the £44.9m release clause that Sport claim is in his contract is up for debate but if Klopp deems it necessary, he will be backed by FSG.
