Liverpool should look to get £10m+ knocked off of Wilfried Zaha’s price tag this summer by using Simon Mignolet as part of a deal.
The London Evening Standard claims that the Eagles are considering an £8m move for the goalkeeper but if Michael Edwards can get them to cough up an extra £2-5m, signing Zaha might be a wise move.
The Reds were reportedly interested in signing the 27-year-old a year ago but a deal never materialised. But this summer might be the right time to make a move.
The Palace talisman wants out at Selhurst Park as he wants to start playing in the Champions League and after winning it for the sixth time last season, there is no better club in England to join if European football is your goal.
The Daily Mail claimed that Palace will only let Zaha go for around £80m but if the Reds can get them to slightly lower their price tag and sell Mignolet to the Londoners, a deal might be more attractive than it currently is.
If Michael Edwards can sign Zaha for below £70m and with a potential sale of Mignolet, the net cost of that deal could sit at around £60m which would be reasonable.
Zaha is arguably the best dribbler in the Premier League and has the potential to become a high scoring winger under the right manager so it’s possible that Klopp can get the most out of him.
Liverpool need more depth in their attacking options and at the right price, the former Manchester United forward could be the right man for the Anfield outfit.
