Report: Liverpool close to selling Rafa Camacho

Liverpool are in talks with Sporting Lisbon over the sale of Rafa Camacho this summer as the forward seeks and an Anfield exit.

The London Evening Standard reports that the two clubs are discussing an agreement to let Camacho join the Portuguese outfit.

The 19-year-old wants regular football and given the talent available to Klopp up front, there is little room for him to breakthrough at Anfield, with Rhian Brewster already ahead of him in the pecking order.

Sporting Lisbon will need to pay £10million to sign Camacho this summer if the Daily Mail’s report from two weeks ago is to be relied upon which would be outstanding business.

The Liga Nos outfit wanted to sign Camacho in January, according to David Lynch, but Klopp was loathe to let another right back option leave the club after he sanctioned Nathaniel Clyne’s loan move to Bournemouth.

His importance as a squad option proved vital as he stopped Crystal Palace scoring a certain goal with a goalline block to secure a dramatic 4-3 win over the Eagles at Anfield.

It’s always a difficult proposition to break into Liverpool’s first team when coming through from the Academy but with the quality in the squad at the moment, it’s that much harder.

The likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane block his progress and with the Reds potentially in the market for a new forward, it’s almost impossible for him to become a regular for the Reds.
