Sport claims that Liverpool are eyeing a move for Real Betis left back Junior Firpo as a deputy to Andy Robertson.
Alberto Moreno has been released by Liverpool upon the expiry of his deal at Anfield and Jurgen Klopp’s recruitment team is now tasked with signing a replacement.
The Spaniard played very little football last season and luckily Robertson was able to avoid injury.
Even when he was suspended for the first leg of the Champions League tie against Bayern Munich, Klopp favoured drafting James Milner into the back four instead of Moreno.
Sport claims that Liverpool are considering a move for Real Betis left-back Junior Firpo.
The fullback is only 22 years old and has a very high ceiling on his potential, making him the ideal target for Klopp’s Reds.
The only thing that might make a deal for Firpo unlikely is his price tag. In his contract is a £44.7million release clause which is £34.7m more than Hull City received for Andy Robertson.
His deal will last until 2023 and the report says that the Reds will have to trigger it to have any chance of signing him as Betis are not interested in selling.
