Jurgen Klopp is reportedly in love with Lille attacker Nicolas Pepe but his recruitment team is not, according to le10sport.

The Ivorian, who is set to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations, is a talented forward blessed with unbelievable pace.

He has been linked with a move to Anfield over the last few weeks, with news outlets from France reporting that Liverpool are heavily interested in taking him to Anfield.

A deal would cost in the region of £70m, according to L’Equipe, and a report from le10sport suggests that Klopp “loves” Pepe while he is not receiving the same support from his recruitment team.

This would likely include sporting director Michael Edwards and director of research Ian Graham.

If it’s true that they are not fond of Pepe, it would be interesting to find out why as he has undeniably been one of the standout attackers in all of Europe over the course of the last 10 months.

It seems more likely that the issue with a move for Salah would down to his huge price tag but other than that, he seems like the perfect addition to Liverpool’s attack.

Of course, the veracity of le10sport’s report needs to be questioned as they add that there is tension between Salah before saying that Klopp would not be against selling the Egyptian.

Given that Salah has directly contributed to 100 goals in 104 games for the Reds, second only to Lionel Messi since the start of last season, it seems very unlikely that Klopp wants to sell him.
