Dejan Lovren’s representatives met with AC Milan to discuss a potential move to the Serie A heavyweights, Milan News claims.
The 29-year-old has never been a fan favourite at Anfield but has made some very enjoyable memories in his time with the Reds.
His winner against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League quarter-finals in 2016 has to be his crowning moment as a Liverpool player while he will always remember the Champions League run in 2017/18 of which he was a large part.
Milan News reports that Lovren’s representatives met with AC Milan today as it looks more and more likely that a deal might be struck with the Rossoneri.
The Times reported on Wednesday that Liverpool would demand at least £25million for Lovren’s signature but if a deal is to be really worth it, they need to recoup closer to £35m.
Liverpool will need to replace Lovren with another central defender this summer and while that won’t be too difficult, finding a fourth choice centre back of his quality won’t be cheap.
His absence won’t be felt as keenly as any of Liverpool’s other defenders as Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have climbed above him in the club’s central defensive pecking order.
One thing that can be said about Lovren is that despite all his faults, he has never given anything less than his best.
