Spanish news outlet AS reports that Real Madrid are prepared to sell Marco Asensio for £88million but Jurgen Klopp should not consider signing the Spaniard.
There is no questioning that Asensio is a talented player and will be a great player one day but he’s not a good fit for Liverpool and for the money the Reds would have to pay, he’s not good enough yet.
With AS reporting that Asensio will be allowed to leave this summer if a club pays Real Madrid’s huge £88million asking price, the Reds need to make sure they avoid the temptation.
The Reds were linked with a move for the 23-year-old last month as Mundo Deportivo claimed that Jurgen Klopp would make a bid to sign the Real Madrid playmaker.
However, given that he was involved in just 15 goals last season despite the fact that he played 54 times, he simply isn’t good enough given the money being demanded.
Liverpool need to be clever with their money in the next couple of months as they cannot afford to make any mistakes in what is an incredibly important transfer market for the Merseysiders.
If the Reds get their summer business right, they could enjoy another hugely fruitful season and end up with a few trophies.
