Kenny Dalglish has urged Andy Robertson to ignore transfer talk that has surprisingly mentioned the left back as a target for Barca.

Mundo Deportivo mentioned last month Robertson is the type of player that is wanted at Camp Nou and Dalglish has urged the Scotland captain to focus on Liverpool and ignore transfer talk.

“Andy Robertson must wake up every morning and think its Christmas Day,” Dalglish told the Sunday Post.

“That’s why I don’t believe he’ll be considering leaving Liverpool for any other football club at home or abroad.

“I’m told he has been linked with a couple of big European clubs. But why would he want to leave Liverpool? Seriously, tell me why?

“Andy has every right to be proud of what he has helped Liverpool achieve in the past 10 months. Week in and week out, he has been hugely influential and his contribution has been enormous. What the team gets out of him in every game is remarkable.”

Robertson won the Champions League with Liverpool at the start of June and will now enjoy his holidays before returning to Melwood for the start of pre-season.

Liverpool signed Andy Robertson for a reported £10million in 2017 as the Reds robbed Hull City of the best left back in the world and with the Scot still just 25 years of age, there is plenty of room for improvement.\

His influence at Anfield is a testament to Liverpool’s world-class recruitment team that constantly scours the market for the best talent available at the best prices.

Robbo scored a worldie for Scotland this weekend and will be looking to add a few more goals to his Liverpool game next season.
