When asked by Press Association’s Simon Peach about what the future holds, Adam Lallana confirmed he will stay at Liverpool.
When asked by Peach if he would be staying at Liverpool, he said: “Yeah, absolutely no question about it.
“I couldn’t be happier here, winning Champions Leagues. I know my ability and I know what I can give.”
The midfielder went on to say that Jurgen Klopp and the coaching staff at Anfield have made it clear to Lallana that he has a role to play next season.
Lallana is a great guy and might be important in the dressing room but his injury record is actually worse than Daniel Sturridge’s, who has just been released by the club.
That and the fact that the Englishman hardly contributes meaningfully on the pitch and keeping him makes very little sense ahead of a hugely important season.
With the likes of Curtis Jones desperate to make their mark at Liverpool, it is quite a strange decision to keep Lallana if Simon Peach is to be believed not to mention the transfer implications.
The former Southampton skipper will bar the way for Klopp to recruit a new midfielder this summer as there will far too many players in the middle of the park.
Simply put, there aren’t too many reasons to keep Lallana anymore.
