Graeme Souness told the Irish Independent that Liverpool need to be worried about losing players to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
He said: “The worry for Liverpool going forward is not Man City having all that firepower to spend but someone coming in for Salah, which I think they will too, Mane too, they will be high on the list of Real Madrid.
“Liverpool are in great shape, I wouldn’t be worried about them.”
While it might be the case that many Liverpool stars will be wanted by other big clubs across Europe, it seems hugely unlikely that any will be tempted into leaving the club now.
12 months ago and the mere suggestion that Barca or Madrid wanted Salah struck fear into the hearts of Liverpool fans across the world.
Now, after winning the Champions League and finishing on 97 points in the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp will be able to enjoy his holiday with the knowledge that his best players aren’t going anywhere.
It a major change from when previous managers were at the helm as the likes of Fernando Torres, Javier Mascherano, Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling left for greener pastures.
Klopp has the club heading in a direction that is so ambitious yet realistic that players want to stay at the club for the rest of their careers while other stars across Europe view Liverpool as the ideal club to take their next step with.
