Andy Robertson told the official Liverpool website that Alisson is ‘unbelievable’ after the Brazilian ensured his side won the UEFA Champions League.
He said: “He’s the man, isn’t he? He’s the man. A lot was said about Ali when he first came, a lot of pressure on him. My God, he’s been unbelievable this season.
“[Against Spurs], it was an absolute joke the way he made the saves and everything. He was different class. It’s down to him that we kept a clean sheet.”
Alisson was named Man of the Match in his first Champions League final in his first season as a Liverpool player after joining the Reds from AS Roma in a deal reportedly worth £66.8million last summer.
The Brazil international has shown Liverpool fans what they’ve been missing out on by not having a world class goalkeeper since Pepe Reina left the club 10 years ago.
Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius are both good goalkeepers but they’ve also cost Liverpool dearly in cup finals and Alisson is several levels above his Anfield colleagues.
The most exciting thing about Alisson is that he’s still just 26 years of age and will be one of if not the best goalkeeper in the world for several years still.
That longevity and immediate success shows that his huge transfer fee was totally worth it.
