Sadio Mane told Robbie Fowler (the Mirror) that Liverpool is the “sexiest” club and that he has no desire to move away after another incredible season.
He had Fowler in stitches when he said described the Anfield outfit as the “sexiest” club around and went on to say: “This is what makes Liverpool so special, because since I came here it is like, wow.
“The first time the boss called me, I said: ‘Oh!’ Because before, I have one brother in Senegal, he was saying even when I was still at Salzburg, ‘I want to see you at Liverpool.’”
This season, Mane scored 27 goals for the Reds – his best season after scoring two goals more than the did last season.
Real Madrid have been interested in Mane for a while and recently, it was revealed that Los Blancos were told to pay £175million or quit wasting Liverpool’s time.
The 13-time European champions did just that and have made no further approaches to sign Mane which is the best thing a Liverpool fan could hope to hear.
As his form in the Premier League showed this season, Mane was crucial for the Reds and while he and his teammates were unable to win the title, his quality was recognised with an individual accolade.
Mane, Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang shared the award as they each scored 22 league goals and showed the world that there is a lot of talent in Africa.
