Liverpool fans have reacted to the news from Goal that Xherdan Shaqiri could be sold this summer as he is out of touch with what Jurgen Klopp expects tactically.
The Swiss international has scored eight goals and assisted 9 this season, including the vital equaliser against Barcelona at Anfield in the Champions League semifinal second leg.
His positive outlook and mercurial talent made him an instant hit with fans but it looks as though he could be sold this summer.
While the former Stoke City winger saw plenty of game time earlier in the season, he has seen limited minutes in the second half of the season and supporters have been curious about the cause.
The report from Goal alludes to the fact that it could be due to the fact that Klopp expects more than Shaqiri offers in a tactical sense.
The 27-year-old could be sold this summer, according to the report, and fans are not happy.
I don’t want to get rid of Shaqiri, I understand he’s maybe not what Klopp is looking for but like we are short of good attackers behind the front 3. Why do we need to get rid of him and bring another ? Do both for once. Shaq was 13m it’s really not that deep

Reading between the speculation lines, it’d appear Liverpool want a left footed forward/winger this summer. Linked to Nicholas Pepe, Bertrand Traore and Samuel Chukwueze. Wouldn’t surprise me if Shaqiri was deemed surplus to requirements

Bit mad we'd have to see Shaqiri to fund another deal, no?
Club is in the best position its been in a long time. Shouldn't still be relying on sales to fund new deals, especially given we've now been in 2 CL finals on the bounce. https://t.co/hE8CGn82ry

I’d rather keep Shaqiri instead of Lallana

I can't understand why Liverpool would ever Considering Getting rid of Shaqiri he did Nothing Wrong at all

Also don’t want to be rude but if we maybe didn’t have enough depth this season and we’re going to have significant out goings but few incomings that means we’ll be is a worse position than the start of the season just gone. If you think logically that doesn’t really make sense

You’ll be hard pressed to find a supporter that is genuinely keen to see Shaqiri sold this summer.
While he didn’t exactly light the world up, as a squad player he was never expected to be star player of the team.
17 goal contributions is very impressive considering his role in the team and it would be difficult to see him leave this summer.
