Gareth Bale is once again being tipped to leave Real Madrid and, according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur are “very likely” to be his next destination.
Either silly season is officially here or Jurgen Klopp is about to spend his entire transfer budget on a washed-up-almost-30-year-old Real Madrid winger.
Had this story surfaced 2-3 years ago when Liverpool were coming off the back of an eighth-placed finish after losing 6-1 to Stoke City on the final day of the season, fans would have been over the moon.
The Daily Star reports that Spanish journo Eduardo Inda has claimed: “Bale has spent the day playing golf at La Moraleja.
“And it is very likely that he will reach either of the two finalists in the Champions League, Tottenham or Liverpool.
“That operation would be accompanied by Eriksen plus a quantity of money.”
The Welshman has scored 16 goals this season but only started 28 games all season as he battled to convince the Real Madrid coaching staff that he is the man to take over from Cristiano Ronaldo as the star man of the team.
While it would be incredible to have someone like Bale at Liverpool, his age and the fact that he will reportedly cost £113m (AS) this summer means it is nigh on impossible for him to find his way to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp has worked extremely hard to build a team without egos and is now reaping the rewards ahead of a Champions League final against Spurs next month.
