Liverpool fans have reacted to the official club website confirming that Roberto Firmino has made a return to training ahead of the Champions League final.

A statement on Liverpoolfc.com reads: “The Brazilian took part in the Reds’ first session of their Marbella training camp on Tuesday morning as he works his way back to full fitness.”

While there was little more said on the matter, fans are hugely excited about Firmino’s potential return to fitness as the 27-year-old is one of the Reds’ best players.

His intelligence on the pitch is supremely underrated as football fans begin to view players in a far more binary way.

This makes Firmino appear inferior to the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a result of the grunt work he puts in to make space for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool fans, however, are hugely appreciative of him and have shown their desire to see him return to action on Twitter.

Roberto Firmino has been directly involved in 24 Champions League goals in 24 appearances.

What makes this all the more impressive is that the Brazilian made his debut in the tournament last season.

His talents will be vitally important in Madrid next month and hopefully he can take his goal contribution tally in Europe’s elite competition to 25 against Tottenham.
