Liverpool want to earn as much as £15million from the sale of Simon Mignolet as the Belgian nears the exit door, reports the Daily Mail.
The Reds might win the Champions League this season and while the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane will receive all the plaudits, there are a few unsung heroes in the Liverpool dressing room.
One of these is Simon Mignolet, as James Milner told the London Evening Standard last month.
The Belgian has not only been extremely professional while warming the bench this season but he has also been hugely supportive of his teammates.
He is constantly encouraging teammates on social media and as Milner attested to almost a month ago, the former Sunderland shot-stopper pushes Alisson on the training pitch to be better.
The Daily Mail reports that Michael Edwards will look to earn £15million this summer for his signature, with Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich City all looking for a new goalkeeper.
With Edwards somehow managing to get £32million for Christian Benteke, nearly £20million for Dominic Solanke and £15million for Jordon Ibe, the Reds’ sporting director is adept at negotiating great prices for departing stars.
Given that Mignolet essentially hasn’t played regular football for almost two years, it would be a masterclass from Edwards if he managed to get £15m for the Belgian.
Of course, the 31-year-old is a good goalie but just simply doesn’t have the quality to match Liverpool’s ambition which is hardly a negative reflection on him.
