Jurgen Klopp will be offered a new contract by Liverpool at the end of the season, reports Calciomercato.

While the wider football community can be quite critical of Jurgen Klopp’s failure to win a trophy in his time at Anfield, Liverpool fans have nothing but positive things to say about the German.

He has taken the Reds from an eighth-place finish and Europa League final appearance in 2016 to back to back top four finishes and now back to back Champions League final appearances.

Liverpool could yet win the Premier League and are praying for Brighton to pull off the impossible by beating Manchester City in the same week that the Anfield outfit beat Barcelona in the semifinals of the Champions League in the most dramatic fashion.

In the aftermath of one of the best nights in Liverpool’s history, it’s safe to say that none of the good memories fans have had over the last few years would have been possible without Jurgen Klopp.

The news from Calciomercato that Liverpool are prepared to offer the boss a record-breaking contract is better than any transfer news you could ever imagine.

They claim that Juventus were keen to recruit the German but found that it was impossible to hold talks with him as he showed no intention of leaving Liverpool.

The report claims that the club’s owners are prepared to break the €10m mark and offer the 51-year-old a record-breaking deal that they say would be “worthy of a top player.”

While it seems unlikely that an Italian news publication would have the inside scoop on the goings on behind the scenes at Liverpool, it would be absolutely huge if Klopp extended his terms with the Reds.

Ever since he arrived on Anfield Road, Klopp has understood what it means to live in the city and has reflected this understanding with his efforts to help keep ticket prices affordable.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager is one of the best in the business and deserves to have his contract with Liverpool extended and can hopefully do so a couple of weeks after winning the Champions League.
