Can Jamie Vardy's form under Brendan Rodgers gift Liverpool the title?

Jamie Vardy could be the man to hand Liverpool a lifeline in the Premier League title race as his hot form under Brendan Rodgers suggests he won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

The Englishman was instrumental in the Foxes’ unprecedented title win in 2016.

Since then, Vardy has made a name for himself by being prolific against the league’s so-called ‘Big Six.’

The 32-year-old has scored 34 goals against the top six sides in the Premier League and after his brace against Arsenal on Sunday, he will be in good mood when Leicester travel to the Etihad.

Under new manager Brendan Rodgers, Jamie Vardy has been given a new lease on life.

In the 10 games since the Northern Irishman jumped ship to join Leicester, Vardy has scored or assisted 11 goals.

In fact, 50% of his 22 goal contributions this season have come in the last two months and he will be hoping to reach the 20 goal mark when he and his teammates take on Manchester City.

More than anyone, Liverpool fans will be hoping Vardy can continue his fine form against City.

All the Reds need Leicester to do is to get a draw and force Pep Guardiola’s men into conceding the Premier League title advantage to Liverpool with just one game to go.

Winning the title will be special enough but to do it on the last day in front of a buoyant Anfield crowd would go down as one of the most special title wins.

Liverpool know they can only focus on getting wins against Newcastle and Wolves.

Although it looks increasingly unlikely, there is still life in the Reds title bid and it will go down to the final day of the season.
