Liverpool fans are furious after Manchester United were soundly beaten by City at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
The Red Devils were actually alright in the opening 25 minutes and put Manchester City under more pressure than most neutrals were expecting.
However, beyond the opening half hour, City were the dominant side and once again showed how easily they can win games at the moment.
Goals from Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane were decisive but fans of a Liverpool persuasion are furious with David de Gea for being beaten at his near post twice.

Of course, it would be unfair to solely blame De Gea as the entire Manchester United backline was awful.

There was a moment during the game where Solskjaer’s back four was nowhere to be seen, allowing Raheem Sterling to play the ball in behind for Leroy Sane to score.
Having watched the Manchester Derby, it’s actually a surprise that Liverpool fans had any hope of United doing them any favours.

One positive for Liverpool fans to take from the Manchester Derby is that it looks like United are going to be terrible for at least another few seasons.
Missing out on Champions League football will make the rebuild job at Old Trafford that much harder and while it won’t make up for potentially missing out on the league title, it’s something.
Meanwhile, Liverpool fans will have their chins up next week as they look forward to a trip to Barcelona in the Champions League.

Barcelona will be right up for the game but the Catalonians are prone to defensive lapses which the likes of Mane will be looking to take advantage of.
The biggest encouragement for Liverpool heading to the Nou Camp is that they have a strong defensive record this season which will certainly be tested by Lionel Messi and co.
Who’s excited!?
