Liverpool fans have been debating who is the Reds’ key player in attack. The stats show that it is Mohamed Salah despite Sadio Mane’s purple patch earlier this year.
The Anfield outfit climbed back to the top of the Premier League at the weekend after beating Cardiff City.
It was a crucial win as a draw or defeat would have meant Manchester City would have been top of the log on goal difference with a game in hand.
Salah was in fine form and won his side a penalty which James Milner converted to make it 2-0 to the visitors. While there has been mass debate over whether or not the Egyptian dived to win the spot-kick, what is clear is that he is getting back to his absolute best.
Not only has he scored the most goals out of Liverpool’s famed front three, but Salah has also scored the most decisive goals.
With nine, the Egyptian has opened the scoring more times than Mane (8) and Firmino (1). On top of that, he has scored 11 goals to take the lead against opposition sides.
The former AS Roma forward was struggling for goals in March but seems to have re-found his rhythm.
With the Premier League title race hotting up, he could not have chosen a better time.
