Liverpool fans have reacted to comments Everton manager has made on Lucas Digne being better than Andy Robertson.
“Robertson is a very good one also,” he told the ECHO. “He is a fantastic boy, a fantastic professional.
“He is our rival but he deserves everything he is achieving in his career but Lucas is Lucas, and Lucas, for me, is the best one because he is our player and playing in our blue shirt.”
Without showing too much bias, there’s zero chance that Andy Robertson is not the better left back. If you compare their attacking stats, the Liverpool man comes on top and if you compare their defensive stats, he is once again the superior player.
Digne is a fine left-back and would probably do better in all aspects of his game if he was playing for a better side. Having said that, he couldn’t get into the side for Barcelona and when he did, he was quite poor.
On the other hand, Robertson has been the standout left back anywhere in Europe this season. Most sides would take the former Hull City man without question.
Here is how Liverpool fans reacted to Marco Silva’s comments:
Everton manager Marco Silva has waded into the debate over who is the best left-back in the city.
Andy Robertson and Lucas Digne have both been in terrific form this season but Silva has backed the Frenchman. Silva More deluded than I thought he was tbh. pic.twitter.com/Qx2CY3vVEL

He’s basically just admitted that Robertson is the better player but has to say Digne is better because he plays for them https://t.co/oXDRqcPHUz

Facts are, Digne is not even half the player that Robertson is. How is Silva a manager because clearly he lacks football knowledge.

How bad is the rest of the team? 40 points between them😂😂😂

There is absolutely no chance Andy Robertson is not better than Lucas Digne 😂

Liverpool are set to take Manchester City right to the wire in the Premier League title race and Robertson’s great form will be key to getting over the line.
The Reds will likely need four wins from four as they look to win their first league title for 30 years.
