A Burnley fan on Twitter has given Liverpool hope in their quest to win the Premier League title by sharing an encouraging omen on social media.
Liverpool are two points clear at the top of the league and while this would normally be a position of strength with five games remaining, Manchester City have a game in hand over the Reds.
Winning that game will give them a one-point advantage and make them the favourites to win the title this season. Most fans and pundits expect United, Tottenham or Chelsea to have the decisive say on who wins the title.
Yet, a Burnley fan on Twitter has suggested that it could be Sean Dyche’s outfit that hands the title to Jurgen Klopp this season.
Burnley face Manchester City at the end of April and will play at Turf Moor. While nobody has yet suggested that the Clarets could beat the Citizens, an omen shared on Twitter suggests they are due a win over Pep Guardiola’s side.
They were thumped 5-0 by City earlier this season but @RoyalDyche on Twitter has predicted a win for the home side later this month.
A tweet from the account. that has since gone viral, told Liverpool fans not to worry as Burnley have beaten the reigning champions every season since they’ve been in the Premier League.
They beat Manchester United 1-0 in the 2009/10 season, City in the 2014/15 campaign, Leicester in the year following their fairytale title win and last season they beat Chelsea.
Liverpool need an upset from Burnley or any of the sides still to face City this season. Their two-point lead at the top of the table is not exactly commanding and could be undermined very soon.
Given how good the Reds have been this season, it would be a shame for it to end without anything to show for it.
C’mon you Clarets!
