Liverpool fans on Twitter have praised Mo Salah for his incredible defensive contribution against Porto on Tuesday evening.
The Egyptian might have fluffed his lines when presented with a brilliant chance to score last night but his presence alone was enough to keep Porto pinned back in the first half.
Eder Militao might be off to Real Madrid in the summer but the Brazilian centre-half was terrified of Salah and this fear meant that he was reluctant to make a challenge in and around the box.
For all his offensive value, Salah’s most notable moment can in his own half.
After Naby Keita gave the ball away on the edge of Porto’s box, Liverpool’s no.11 raced back at the speed of light to prevent Otavio from being presented with a favourable position in attack.
Supporters on Twitter were astonished by Salah’s unbelievable turn of foot to race back in defence.
He did something similar in mid-March to prevent a counter-attack from Fulham resulting in a goal.
Moments like these just prove how desperate he is to win silverware with Liverpool.

That tracking back by Salah in the first half was easily one of my favourite moments of the season and testament to the spirit which exists between this set of players.

Brilliant tracking back from Salah to stop a Porto counter, and then win a free kick. Anfield certainly appreciates it. #LFC

Lots of good moments last night, a few not so good, but the one that sums up this team is Salah tracking back from the corner and ending up playing like a professional left back

Excuse the potato quality, but this video highlights that Mo Salah wants a trophy this year.

Liverpool are in a fantastic position to win silverware for the first time under Jurgen Klopp.
Salah’s defensive efforts against Porto really demonstrate the Reds’ desperation and desire to become title winners and if that is to happen, Mo and co. will need to keep up the hard work.
Liverpool’s next game is a huge clash against Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday and will have a huge impact on deciding who wins the 2018/19 Premier League title.
