Georginio Wijnladum told the Liverpool website that the Reds are comfortable with the pressure they are under to win the Premier League this season.
The Reds beat Tottenham in dramatic fashion on Sunday and were able to go back to the top of the Premier League table.
“We will see. I hope so. What I feel in the team is that everyone is quite comfortable with the situation we’re in,” the midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com.
“We always have to wait until when [we have to show] we can handle the pressure – until now it’s going well so we have to keep it like that.”
Excluding the final day of the season, Manchester City will play their games before Liverpool. This has the potential to mount considerable pressure for the Merseysiders.
Gary Neville said after the Spurs game that this is a major advantage for the champions.
While City have more obviously tough games, they will be confident that they can take a result from each fixture. While most fans are tipping United to be the decisive team in the title race, Crystal Palace could hold the key.
The Eagles beat Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad earlier this season, with Andros Townsend scoring a world-class volley from outside the box to get the Eagles fired up.
Roy Hodgson’s men will welcome City to Selhurst Park in two weeks and you can bet your week’s wages that Liverpool fans will be unable to tear their eyes from the television.
It would be quite strange to see Roy Hodgson play a pivotal role in Liverpool winning a Premier League title given how dire his managerial spell at Anfield was.
Looking back at his time on Merseyside, it makes what Klopp has done look even more spectacular.
