Reported Liverpool target Callum Hudson-Odoi has commented on his Chelsea future, hinting that he is happy to wait for his chance at Stamford Bridge.
The forward was linked to Liverpool in January by German news outlet Bild but a deal never materialised.
He has now said: “I’m not impatient. Obviously, I’m always keen to play football, I love the game.
“But at times you’ve got to be patient and wait for your chance to come and hopefully many more will come. I always have the same mentality I’m not going to change because I’ve had one game with the [England] team.”
If Liverpool signed Hudson-Odoi in the summer, it would certainly provide excellent cover for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah but it wouldn’t be an improvement on his situation at Chelsea or fix the issues Liverpool have.
The Reds need a top attacking midfielder. The likes of Julian Brandt and Kai Havertz would be superb at Liverpool and are attainable.
Their German link with Jurgen Klopp could be useful in helping organise a deal.
Beyond signing a versatile attacking midfielder, signing a new centre back and left-back should be the main priority.
With Moreno seemingly closing in on a move to Lazio in the summer, Andy Robertson will need competent competition.
Elsewhere, Simon Mignolet, Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Adam Lallana could leave and will all need replacing.
