Jamie Carragher says this season is exciting as Liverpool are challenging for both Premier League and Champions League honours.
The Reds are top of the table and into the last eight of the European Cup. It makes where they were just a few years ago even worse and highlights the incredible job Jurgen Klopp has done.
Carragher said: “It’s been a few years since we’ve had a finish like that and it’s just great that Liverpool are involved.
“It’s exciting as it’s not just the Premier League Liverpool are going for, it’s the Champions League as well. Credit to the manager and the players for putting themselves in a great position.”
This has been one of the best seasons I’ve had the luck to enjoy as a Liverpool fan and if things can go perfectly between now and May, it could be one of the best ever in the club’s history.
A league and European cup double would be remarkable given the opposition. Beating this financial-doping Manchester City side would be an extraordinary feat when you consider they were being branded the best Premier League side of all time last season.
A lot will need to happen in order for that to become a reality but with City just one point ahead of Liverpool and Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern all out of the Champions League, the stage has been set for a remarkable end to the season.
