Mohamed Salah has been accused of being ‘selfish and greedy’ by Jamie Carragher after his display against Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Liverpool defender said that Salah needs to stop trying to do everything on his own.
Before his recent goal drought, Salah had never gone more than two Premier League games without finding the back of the net. Now, however, he hasn’t scored since playing Bournemouth in February – a run of six goalless matches.
Carragher said: “He has been selfish and greedy, no doubt.
“His record for Liverpool has been outstanding in the Premier League – scoring and creating goals. Nobody has been involved in more goals this season.
“He’s been a constant threat. But two or three times he’s got to get his head up and see what’s around him.”
While it might seem as though Salah is playing terribly if you look at stats alone, he has actually been in good form apart from his temporary inability to find the back of the net.
In fact, his presence on the right-hand side has created more space for Mane in the centre of the pitch which has contributed considerably to the former Southampton forward’s electric form.
Mane has scored the most goals in the Premier League from open play and is just one goal behind Sergio Aguero at the top of the charts.
Salah will eventually find the back of the net again and then Liverpool will once again win games by more than one goal.
