Liverpool should avoid spending £105million on Joao Felix and instead sign a new central defender and a Philippe Coutinho replacement.
Given some of the issues Liverpool have faced this season, that money could be better spent elsewhere.
The Reds have the best defence in the Premier League this season. Only 18 goals have been conceded in 31 games while City (21) have the next best defence.
Although Liverpool have such a brilliant back line, the injuries Lovren and Gomez suffered could have proved far more costly than they have.
Klopp should aim to sign Matthijs de Ligt to partner Virgil van Dijk. Those two, side by side, would have the potential to break records in both England and Europe.
On top of that, a player in Philippe Coutinho’s mould is needed. Hakim Ziyech has proven in the Champions League that the Eredivisie isn’t his highest level.
If Klopp signed both de Ligt and Ziyech, it would be a tremendous summer and allow Liverpool to build on this season.
