Bayern Munich's David Alaba and Kingsley Coman fit to face Liverpool

Bayern Munich will have David Alaba and Kingsley Coman fit to face Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 at the Allianz Arena.

The two sides go into the game in Munich with the tie hanging in the balance. A 1-1 draw would see the Reds go through while Bayern Munich need to win in order to go through without going to penalties.

Niko Kovac has confirmed his side has received a double injury boost as David Alaba and Kingsley Coman will be fit to face Liverpool. The Frenchman will be part of the squad but whether or not he starts remains to be seen.

Kovac told his pre-Liverpool press conference: “Alaba took part in training yesterday, not the whole training. We will have the final training today and I think he will be starting. He is mentally and physically fit to help the team.

“Coman is fit for tomorrow. Whether it is good enough for him to start we will have to see, but he is, in any case, an option.”

While Bayern will be boosted by the fitness of the aforementioned duo, Joshua Kimmich will miss the decisive clash in Germany. That will be huge for Liverpool as the 24-year-old was fantastic defensively in the corresponding fixture at Anfield last month.
