Liverpool are interested in signing Atletico Mineiro right back Emerson as they plan for the future without Nathaniel Clyne who is on loan at Bournemouth.
With the Englishman on loan for the rest of the season, Liverpool only have one senior right back at the club and with Trent Alexander-Arnold currently injured, the lack of depth in that position is exposed once again.
The Reds are apparently targeting a move for Atletico Mineiro fullback Emerson, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo.
His performances over the last year have been hugely impressive and have caught they eye of scouts across Europe.
The 20-year-old played for Brazil at the U20 2017 Toulon Tournament where so many gems have been discovered in the past.
Liverpool certainly aren’t the only side interested in Emerson, that’s for sure. Shakhtar Donetsk, Juventus, Arsenal, Internazionale, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Borussia Dortmund, Lille, Watford, Porto, Valencia and Real Betis are all said to hold an interest in the young Brazilian.
Whether or not Klopp looks to bolster his defensive ranks with an unproven youngster or move for someone with more experience like Eder Militao, who has been linked with Real Madrid and Manchester United, remains to be seen.
