Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is reportedly set to reject an £85,000 contract from the Blues amid offers from Bayern Munich.
The 18-year-old is one of the most exciting young forwards to emerge from the Premier League academies and if stories are to be believed, is looking to follow in Jadon Sancho’s footsteps and move to the Bundesliga to develop.
Bayern have made four bids for Hudson-Odoi, according to Sky Sports, the latest of which is believed to be worth £35million.
The young Chelsea forward has apparently made it clear to his current club that he is not extending his contract and with 18 months remaining, this is their chance to cash in.
Interestingly enough, Sport Bild have linked Liverpool with a move for Hudson-Odoi in their latest issue.
Despite the Reds’ supposed interest in the forward Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic remains hopeful of completing a £35million+ transfer this month regardless of Liverpool’s desire (real or not) to sign Hudson-Odoi.
Jurgen Klopp has said on several occasions this month that he has no plan to invest in players before the summer unless circumstances drastically change and I don’t believe that was a lie.
