Jurgen Klopp says Fabinho is in need of rest after leaving the pitch against Crystal Palace as a result of injury, with the Reds flying out to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp.
The Brazilian was helped off the pitch by a physio after sustaining a hamstring injury in the dying minutes, with Adam Lallana racing on to replace his teammate.
Since Jurgen Klopp fully integrated Fabinho into the starting XI, he has been outstanding and is now vital to this Liverpool’s team’s success.
So with 11 days until the Reds are next in action, Klopp will be grateful that Fabinho and a number of injured players will have extra time to recuperate without the immediate stress of upcoming fixtures.
Klopp told his press conference: “I would imagine Milly out now and Fabinho for sure a doubt, it would have been a massive challenge if we should play on Wednesday and Saturday again.
“I’ve no idea how we would have done that. It would be now two days recovery for the boys with the most minutes. The others train and then we start preparation for the Leicester game which is another tough task.
“But it won’t be a real break. We will use it for training.”
On Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury, Klopp said: “I don’t know. From day to day, that is what everyone tells me.
“Trent is a very quick healer so that gives us at least a little hope. We have to see.”
