Former Egypt international Mido suggests that if Mohamed Salah scores 25 goals again this season, Barcelona and Real Madrid will come knocking and the forward won’t be able to say no.

Normally, these kinds of transfer stories would worry me as we’ve seen the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Raheem Sterling, Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres leave the club for bigger and better things, all winning silverware after leaving Liverpool.

However, under Klopp, the Reds look frightening and are on course to win the Premier League in record-breaking fashion if they continue their current form for the rest of the season.

Yet, Mido believes that Salah will jump ship this summer if he receives a phone call from one of the Spanish giants.

“You never know in football,” Mido said on CNN. “If Barcelona or Real Madrid come for you your head is going to flip, all the players are like that.

“Barcelona and Real Madrid are different – no disrespect to Liverpool.

“I think Barcelona and Real Madrid were waiting to see how Salah would do this season – they don’t buy players after only one good or great season.

“I think if Salah scores 25-plus goals, I think they will come for him and it will be difficult for Liverpool to keep him.”
