Rumours have surfaced suggesting that Liverpool or Chelsea have beaten La Liga giants Atletico Madrid to Christian Pulisic’s signature.
The 20-year-old was virtually unsellable last season as he was seen as key to Borussia Dortmund’s future.
However, the rise to prominence of Jadon Sancho and Pulisic’s refusal to sign a new contract have seen Dortmund prepare themselves to sell him either in January or agree a premium to let him leave in the summer.
The source of these rumours come from Deporte Cadena SER’s radio show Carrusel Confidential.
They claim that when Atletico Madrid approached Dortmund to sign the winger, they were told that a deal had already been agreed with a Premier League.
While the Daily Mail suggest Chelsea have beaten Liverpool to Pulisic’s signature, I believe that this is guesswork as moving to Stamford Bridge doesn’t make any sense for America’s rising star.
Joining this exciting Liverpool project under a manager like Jurgen Klopp, who is known for getting the best out of young attacking players, seems the most logical step for Pulisic.
