Liverpool have reportedly offered Alberto Moreno back to Sevilla as the Reds look to offload the Spanish fullback for a fee in January before his contract expires in July.

While the next couple months will undoubtedly be filled by endless transfer stories that hold no weight, I want this one to be true more than anything as Moreno brings little to this team but still deserves to be playing more football than he is.

At 26 years of age, Moreno should be close to entering the prime of his career and ought to be playing more football even if I (and many other Liverpool fans) don’t believe that he is suited to running out for the Reds every week.

Spanish news outlet Marca reports that Liverpool have offered Sevilla the chance to sign Moreno in January as the Reds look to score a small transfer fee for Moreno instead of allowing him to leave the club for free next summer.

Moreno would apparently favour a move to his former club and it would really be a deal that suits all parties even if Sevilla would actually be better off signing him in July when he would be free.

Liverpool would need to at least sign an interim replacement at left back otherwise Andy Robertson would have zero cover in case of injury, fatigue or suspension.
