Naby Keita has returned to training just in time to face Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League group stages this evening but is expected to start from the bench after being out with a hamstring injury for two weeks.
Liverpool might have dropped two points in the Premier League away to Arsenal but Klopp will be expecting his side to get back to winning ways in the next two fixtures as Red Star and Fulham prepare to face the Merseysiders.
Sitting in third place with 27 points after 11 games, Liverpool are enjoying their best start to a domestic season since the commercial rebranding of England’s top division. Such is the quality in England these days, however, the Reds are still only third in the table.
With Naby Keita back from injury, Klopp has more options available to him in midfield and with the Guinean yet to really kick on since moving from RB Leipzig in the summer, fans should still be very excited about watching the 23-year-old play.
Keita has travelled to Belgrade and while he is expected to start from the bench, a short cameo at the end of the game is also likely and will provide him with some match fitness as well as a way to get his confidence back up.
After making the £52million switch to Liverpool, his transition into life as a Reds wasn’t as smooth as some might have expected but there is no denying that he still has all the tools required to become a fantastic player under Klopp.
With three quarters of the season still left, there is plenty of time for Keita to get back to his best and if he manages to fully click under Klopp, he will be terrifying defences as he did on opening day against West Ham.
