Liverpool take on Southampton in just under an hour and team news has been released. After the midweek win over Paris Saint-Germain, Klopp is going for the Southampton jugular.

Roberto Firmino’s stoppage-time winner at Anfield on Tuesday raised the roof as PSG were put to the sword in the dying minutes of the game.

Kylian Mbappe almost helped salvage a point for his side but Liverpool’s talismanic Brazilian ensured Klopp’s side picked up a win in their first game of the 2018/19 Champions League campaign.

Surprisingly, Mohamed Salah was very poor and his performance was summed up by giving the ball away uncharacteristically for Mbappe’s goal but the Egyptian is not being rested today.

Xherdan Shaqiri will start his first game in competitive action since signing for Liverpool in the summer and given his bright and energetic cameos so far this season, the Switzerland international should help his team to a seventh consecutive win.

Liverpool have a chance to go top of the Premier League table by securing three points as Chelsea are only above the Reds on goal difference and don’t play their sixth game of the season until tomorrow afternoon when they take on West Ham United.

After a fantastic game at Anfield on Tuesday, supporters will be excited to see more thrilling football and hopefully the side Klopp has selected can get the job done without any major drama.

Full team news: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Shaqiri, Mane, Salah, Firmino.
