Maurizio Sarri believes that Eden Hazard can outscore Harry Kane and Mo Salah this season after the Belgian scored a hat-trick against Cardiff City on Saturday.
In his debut season for Liverpool, Mohamed Salah exceeded expectations massively and broke the Premier League record for goals scored in a 38-game season by scoring 32 times.
His incredible campaign saw him break a record shared by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez, who had scored 31 times in previous seasons. Salah’s form saw him beat Harry Kane to the golden boot and now Maurizio Sarris says Eden Hazard can beat both players to the award.
When asked if the mercurial forward can score more than Salah and Kane, Sarri replied: “I think so.
“I talked with Eden and I told him that for me, he can score 40 goals. He has to improve something, but he can do it.
“If you saw the game [against Cardiff], you have to say [he believed me].”
Hazard is the top goalscorer in the Premier League with five goals in five games while Romelu Lukaku, Sadio Mane and Alexsandr Mitrovic have four. Salah and Kane both have two as last season’s top two goalscorers are yet to really get going this term.
