Lebron James’ affiliation with Liverpool could help the Reds sign Nicolo Barella as the Serie A star admitted to wanting to move to the Premier League as well as a desire to meet Lebron.
On Saturday, the Reds won their fifth game of the Premier League season away to Spurs as they continued their flawless start to the domestic campaign.
Although transfers are not a priority at this point in the season, Michael Edwards and co. will be certain to have their eyes on players to target in future windows and one who might be of interest is Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella.
The 21-year-old has admitted to fancying a move to England while his desire to meet NBA icon Lebron James could see the midfielder prefer a move to Liverpool if made to choose.
Barella told Gazzetta dello Sport: “Cagliari received offers and turned them down. I am happy to have remained with the club I support.
“If I had to choose between Serie A and the Premier League, I’d go for England, because I like the way they approach the game. Plus everyone there is just as irritable and prone to fouls as me!
“My dream is to get a nice house with a garden and a pool. And to meet LeBron James.”
Lebron James regularly visits Anfield and is a stakeholder in the Merseyside outfit so if Barella were to make a switch to Liverpool in the future, he might be able to meet the NBA icon.
