Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has revealed that he supported Liverpool as a kid and was inspired by Michael Owen.
Back in 2007, shortly after joining Atletico Madrid, Sergio Aguero revealed that he would have loved to join Liverpool.
“If I had to choose a league then it would be the Premier League,” Aguero told German newspaper Munich TZ.
“I have been a Liverpool fan for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream to play there. I watched the Champions League final and celebrated every goal as if it was for Independiente.”

Aguero, who will most definitely be considered a Manchester City and Premier League legend by the time he retires, has revealed the (somewhat simplistic) reason why he would have loved to join the Reds.
“When I was a boy, I liked Liverpool because I played for Independiente and the team colours were red as well,” Aguero said.
“And at the time, I was inspired by Michael Owen.”
Had the Argentinean move to Anfield, he would have undoubtedly been one of the most talented players to have graced the hallowed turf. In 210 games for City, Aguero has scored an incredible 146 goals.
