Liverpool fans noticed that although Spurs could have been beaten by a margin of four or five goals at Wembley, the Reds’ front three of Salah, Firmino and Mané is nowhere near reaching top gear and this bodes well for the rest of the season.

Heading into the game at Spurs’ temporary home ground, all the talk was about how the London side had walloped Liverpool at the same stadium just under a year ago but it was Tottenham who might have ended up on the wrong end of a big scoreline this time around.

Had Salah or Mané been less selfish or sharper with the chances they received, Tottenham could have easily conceded four or five goals despite Liverpool playing quite poorly in the first half.

Fans on Twitter were quick to comment on the fact that after winning their first five games of the season, there is still no sign of Liverpool hitting top gear and this is a scary thought.

Just like you, I am a hugely passionate Liverpool supporter. I started Rousing the Kop in January 2015 and since then it has grown tremendously and has even been nominated as 'Best New Football Blog' in the Football Blogging Awards.
