Leon Balogun compares Liverpool to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund

Liverpool have been compared to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund by Brighton defender Leon Balogun, who also threw shade at Manchester United.

On Saturday, the Reds beat the Seagulls 1-0 in a tense affair at Anfield. Chris Hughton’s side pushed Jürgen Klopp’s all the way after beating Manchester United last weekend.

A third consecutive win and clean sheet this season received a lot of praise from pundits and supporters alike and Leon Balogun has also praised Liverpool’s style of play, comparing it to how he experienced playing against Bayern and Dortmund while at Mainz.

“I would compare this game to playing against Bayern Munich, or maybe even Borussia Dortmund back in the day when Klopp was there,” he told Stadium Astro.

“It was very fast, quick attack, a bit more pacey than the Bundesliga definitely and much more quality.

“We knew we would have to be at the top of our game again like last week, but then at the same time Liverpool play different football than Manchester United.

“They use their quickness in attack and they have a lot of runners you always have to be aware of. Manchester didn’t come up with that kind of play last week.”
