Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has offered his prediction for Liverpool’s Monday Night Football clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

A 4-0 win over West Ham last week got the Reds’ Premier League campaign off on the right foot but the first real test of the season comes away to Palace, who have proven to be a pain in the arse in recent years.

Wilfred Zaha and former Liverpool man Christian Benteke will ask questions of Klopp’s new and improved defence featuring new signing Alisson. A clean sheet was earned at Anfield against the Hammers and supporters will be hoping for more of the same against the Eagles.

If Liverpool can keep Benteke and co. quiet for the 90 minutes, it will show just how far the Reds have at the back under Klopp.

“What a game,” Merson told Sky Sports. “This is a good game, Selhurst Park is a hard place to go. Crystal Palace won at Fulham but Liverpool were irresistible against West Ham.

“This is a big game for Liverpool, Man City will have already won and you’ve got to win these games if you’re going to win the Premier League.

“I think this is a difficult game for them but I’ll just go with Liverpool.”

I’m going to predict a 3-0 win for the Reds, who I think will continue their barnstorming start to the season with another dominant and convincing victory.
