Paul Joyce reports that Fabinho is fit to face West Ham on Sunday as the Reds get their Premier League season underway by hosting the Hammers at Anfield.
After reports this week suggested that new signing Fabinho picked up a knock in the Reds’ friendly win over Torino on Tuesday, the Brazilian is set to start from the bench alongside Xherdan Shaqiri.
This update comes from Paul Joyce who says Naby Keïta and Alisson are likely to start which means we’ll likely see a midfield three of Wijnaldum, Keïta and Milner.
Klopp has confirmed that the Englishman will be fit to play despite receiving 15 stitches after a clash of heads against Torino.
“He should be OK. He is working with a headband, all of them different colours and all of them suit him!” the manager said.
“It is a pretty long cut. But it is Milly so he is not really bothered about it. Heading was never his best skill but we need his head from time to time, not only for heading.
“We will figure it out. He said when the cut was open: ‘Don’t think that this rules me out of next Sunday!’
“I don’t decide that. It looks quite positive but I don’t know yet 100 per cent.”
