Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that there will be outgoings at Liverpool before the 31 August deadline on selling players.
Liverpool conducted some sublime work in the 2018 summer transfer window and while it will take some time to see whether or not Alisson, Fabinho, Keïta and Shaqiri will be worth what was paid for them, the consensus is that they’ll take the Reds to new heights.
Having paid over £175million on the quartet, Klopp will be expecting each player to repay his trust in them and that will start on Sunday when West Ham visit Anfield for the opening game of the season.
The window for signing new players in the Premier League has slammed shut but Liverpool are yet to wrap up deals for those looking to leave on loan or on a more permanent basis.
Speaking to the media ahead of Liverpool’s first game of the season, Klopp confirmed that he is expecting a few players to leave the club.
He said: “Any more? Yes. The transfer window is only one way closed, so we cannot buy any more, we can only sell – but not sell anymore in England, in the Premier League.
“It is clear that a few things will happen.”
Simon Mignolet and Divock Origi seem the most likely to depart as neither have particularly promising careers on Merseyside, while Lazar Markovic’s stay at the club is almost at an end as well.
