Nabil Fekir will join Liverpool on the 4th of August after months of negotiations with Lyon – according to France 24 journalist Jean Sebastien.
Supporters are desperate for the club to unveil Nabil Fekir as a Liverpool player in spite of the fact that some truly exciting transfers have been conducted this summer by sporting director Michael Edwards.
Fabinho and Naby Keïta joined the Reds early on in the summer, with the latter always expected to join after an agreement was reached with RB Leipzig last year.
Xherdan Shaqiri wrapped a move to Anfield soon after he returned from World Cup action with Switzerland but the club’s blockbuster move for the summer was a £65million deal for Alisson Becker.
With speculation over a deal for Fekir ongoing, Jean Sebastien, who claims to work as a journalist for France 24, said on Twitter that the Frenchman will join the officially join the club on the 4th of August.
If this were true, his move would be completed just days before the Premier League’s transfer window slams shut but given that Sebastien’s status as a genuine journalist is unconfirmed, it seems unwise to trust his word wholeheartedly.
Fekir’s potential arrival at Liverpool would cap off a truly wonderful transfer window for Liverpool. Even without the playmaker, Klopp has a squad that is ready to challenge for the league title.
