Liverpool’s goalkeeping coach has dropped a like on an Instagram post reporting that the Reds are closing in on a move for Roma’s Alisson.
On Tuesday, there was a social media explosion as far as Liverpool are concerned, with several reliable journalists reporting that a £62 million bid had been submitted to Roma to secure Alisson on a long-term contract.
While a fee hasn’t been agreed with the Italians just yet and there is still the possibility that Chelsea swoop in and hijack a move for the Brazilian, it does look very promising for the Reds at this moment in time.
Roma allegedly want another £5million to part ways with their 25-year-old shotstopper and supporters have gone into a frenzy on social media. Apparently, goalkeeping coach John Achterberg is just as excited if his Instagram activity is anything to go by.

Achterberg liked a post from The Redmen TV on Instagram which showed reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that “Alisson is close to Liverpool” and that “talks are ongoing with Roma.”
Of course, this is hardly a confirmation that Liverpool have sealed a deal for Allison as in the past few years we’ve seen the likes of Piotr Zielinski appear in a Liverpool shirt on holiday only for him to never join the club.
For now, it’s exciting enough to read reports from all the big journalists about how the Reds have launched a world record bid for a goalkeeper and to think about what a spine of Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Keita (and Fekir?) and the incredible front three up top can produce in the next few seasons.
